New music video - Prema Yin "Eyo Eyo"
Prema Yin and her band of misfits is making a big entrance into the industry with a new music video & an EP launched all right before the holy month of Ramadhan. Talk about nice timing. The music video, directed & produced by Kerol & Phuture Phlow Films, seems to be using some sort of a camera trick. The camera trick, which I like to call the "Dizzy Blair Witch" camera trick (if they have an actual term for it, please let me know), gives the video a dizzy, pole dancing effect. Why pole dancing? I have no idea. But it does give an edge to the presentation of the video. Shot in various locations like The Mist Bangsar, Prema's new video is set to woo old & new fans to her music. And a job well done by the Phuture Phlow Films boys. It does show, a good piece of art comes from real talent. They might be award winners, the end result shows why.
Watch the making of the video here.

Chiki by Kat Mentor Music Video
What can i say? Liked the music. Though it seriously need more elements in the beats. It starts to sound like any local hip hop music after a while with the looping of beats. But one thing for sure. I HATED the video. It's just really annoying. I mean, click play and you be the judge and tell me that i'm wrong. I hated the beginning, then there was 20secs of "ok-ness" then it was back to the same shit again. Come one people, the video looked well budgeted. At least hire a better DOP, cos it seems like this one's vision sucks. For reals.
Estrella - Take It Slow Music Video
This song is surprisingly good. Honestly I've given up hope on them when i 1st heard them on Hitz TV. But i'm reconsidering right now. Hope they come up with better stuffs as they go along. Anyway, i came across this vid while buzzing 'round youtube. It's a pretty alright video just that it there's a really much needed quality editing(someone more creative). Other than that it's pretty cool. Really like the color, reminds me of old Filipino flicks.
Blunt Concept - Culture Crash
Blunt Concept is a Rapcore band from the Philippines. The band formed in August 11, 2007 with members Luciano Ayque (Bass/Vocals), Allister Ayque (Guitar) and Luis Bichara (Drums).
The music of Blunt Concept are representations of poetry, individuality, courage over adversity, love and self respect. The band relates social inequality and real life drama to heavy angry music; expressin' life struggles against the greedy, fake, vain hypocrites; screamin "FUCK YOU!!" to all the corrupt and judgmental characters of our society.
The band is mostly known for their poetic rap lyrics, and aggressive power riffs. They also cite Mike Shinoda, A Wilhelm Scream, All that Remains and Lamb of God as their main influences.
Here the list of current band members: Luciano Ayque (Vocals), Allister Ayque (Guitar), Chris Liwag (Guitar), Ross Perez (Bass), NJ Asetre (Drums)
They've released two tracks: Half Baked and 7FM B.C. in 2007 and Ungreed and Infinity in 2008. You can check them out at their website, www.bluntconcept.com.

New music video: Estranged "Ketika Ini"
Estranged new music video, "Ketika Ini" is directed by Sashmar Onoprienko. It's kind of cool to watch a raw music video like this. But I wonder why One Buck Short & Pesawat is in the picture, but if my guess is right, it's about going for a gig. Nice one!

15Malaysia short film trailers
15Malaysia, an independent film project by Pete Teo consisting of 15 short films by 15 Malaysian film makers. The films covers a wide range of socio political issues that in my opinion, does hit the mark for us Malaysians. How do I say this? These films shows the colorful & cynically funny life of an everyday Malaysian. Really.
The films are:
- Meter by Lim Benji. It's a taxi driver story starring Khairy Jamaluddin. Yup, the infamous @KhairyJ.
- One Future by Tan Chui Mui. Not sure where this film intends to go, but it features Tian Chua.
- House by Linus Chung. This trailer hits the mark for me.
- Halal by Liew Seng Tat. Feels like a "why the chicken cross the road?" kind of story.
- Gerhana by James Lee. Another James Lee trait?
- Lollipop by Nam Ron. Love the trailer soundtrack. Very imaginative.
- The Son by Desmond Ng. Ousted former minister Zaid Ibrahim plays a part in this film.
- The Tree by Amir Muhammad and featuring the wisdom of Islamic life from Tuan Guru Nik Aziz.
- Healthy Paranoia by Khairil M Bahar. This one should be good I think. Malaysian Minister of Health made a cameo appearance.
- Lumpur by Kamal Sabran. I think this should be another nationalism film.
- Slovak Sling by Woo Ming Jin. Harith Iskandar potrays a gay man. Lol. Must be funny.
- Potong Saga by Ho Yuhang.
- Chocolate by the late Yasmin Ahmad.
15Malaysia is due to launch on 17th August 2009, which is just next week. Would love to see how that turns out. Good job Pete! Follow & receive updates from their Facebook and Twitter page.

Soldier- James Baum (BRAND NEW RNB 2009)
Well, 1st and foremost: The song's pretty melodic if you don't consider the fact that its not mastered. I know it says "New RNB 2009" but don't you agree that it sounds somewhat more like 2005? The styles been overdone all over the world and to release something like this at this current era of electro-pop music. There's just no challenge.
However, I kinda dig the lyrics. Just that there's still a lot of work to be done with the beat. And please, advice to everyone, master your songs before uploading.

The Regiment Rejuvenates (Official Music Video)
Artist Involved : Jay-one, Shine, Pendekar, Influent, Odd.star, Adrenalene, Freaky-Z, K.i.n.g. , Ilbril, Irfan, Bless, Rauzan, Sez, The Ish, Azrael.
I would really say that this is a pretty good attempt on an independent music video. Only problem is the excessive use of a single plugin that even i can tell they're running on Sony Vegas. However, it's still better than most of the shit that we get back here from production houses.
Liked the classic beat and some of them flows. The only thing that is seriously absent from this guys is the diction. Rapping 101, thy shall spit with good diction or don't at all. I can barely understand the spits and someone, please tell me the story behind this video. 'Cos all i got was the obvious 'X' in the spits and i believe most of the time they're just dissing rappers out there. That's my best guess.
But over all, I don't mind watching it again. Already did twice. Nice flows, good independent production( especially the editing), only downside is the diction.
