Once in while, you stumble upon some goldmine that brings joy to your potluck. Introducing The Wknd, a weekly online music and interview show. What they wanna do for you? Live, up close and personal seat on the frontline of the fast-growing Malaysian independent music scene. Started in 2008, The Wknd has a compilation of 12 artists, band, solo or group jam session videos, which is really cool. They planning to release a second season starting this March 2009. And nuGrooveTV will be there watching. In the front seat!
To give you a little spank on what's coming this March from The Wknd, here's Estrella with their slow jazz number, "Take It Slow".
This was what nuGrooveTV wanted to produce back in early 2007 when we started. We started doing live videos, but eventually we wanted to produce a "serious" interview/jam session show to highlight original Malaysian music. But due to lack of resources and un-manageable time to free up work commitments, we just couldn't do it. We're excited that these guys are doing it!
